New Trustee, Josh Knipp, Welcomed to PGA REACH Colorado

March 4, 2025

Welcome, Josh Knipp!

Larkspur, CO – February 4, 2025 – PGA REACH Colorado Foundation (the charitable arm of The Colorado PGA Section) is pleased to announce that Josh Knipp, Territory Manager with Mizuno Golf, has joined the PGA REACH Colorado Foundation Trustee Board.

Josh and Mizuno Golf have been very engaged in all things PGA REACH Colorado Foundation leading up to this appointment with major support to both the Colorado PGA Junior Pathway Tours and PGA HOPE.

Personal Bio on Josh Knipp:

Golf has been a part of my life since I was around 8 years old, and it will remain so for the rest of my life. To me, golf is simply the best sport there is. The memories, friendships, and some of my most significant life moments (aside from marrying my wife, Sam, and adopting our son, Beau) have all been made possible through golf. Interestingly, I also met Sam because of golf!

I grew up in Bay City, Michigan, and moved to Colorado in 2003 with my brother Jason, who now lives in Silverthorne. I spent seven years as an Assistant Professional at The Breckenridge Golf Club, with four of those winters working in Arizona. After those years, I took a break from the golf business for about four years, but I always had the intention of returning to the industry at some point in my career. I was able to re-enter the golf world as an Independent Sales Representative, where I represented several different brands for about three years. Then, by chance, I found out about an opening with Mizuno Golf. I jumped at the opportunity and was offered the job. I have now been with Mizuno Golf as a Territory Manager, covering Colorado and Wyoming, for four years.

I love helping others whenever I can, and what better way to do that than through golf? For the past three years, I’ve worked with and sponsored the Colorado Junior PGA. It’s a great feeling to help these kids in any way I can to achieve their goals. I’ve also had the pleasure of bringing on four of the top juniors in the state to Team Mizuno as full-staff ambassadors. I think I may have enjoyed presenting them with that opportunity even more than they did!

I’m excited to join this group of trustees to give back even more to the game that has played such a huge role in my life and provided me with so many opportunities. As we all know, golf is not the most accessible sport for many people across the country, and the PGA Reach Foundation is making a significant difference in changing that. I’m thrilled to now be part of that change and to help those in our great state of Colorado.

PGA HOPE Colorado (Helping Our Patriots Everywhere) has achieved a momentous milestone—securing a coveted spot in the 2025 PGA HOPE Secretary’s Cup. This prestigious national tournament, held in conjunction with the PGA Championship, celebrates the transformative power of golf in the lives of U.S. military veterans and active duty through PGA HOPE. The Colorado team’s selection is a testament to their dedication, perseverance, and the strength of the Colorado Section’s PGA HOPE program. PGA HOPE is a flagship initiative of the PGA of America and the PGA REACH Colorado Foundation, designed to introduce golf to veterans and active-duty military personnel as a way to enhance their physical, mental, emotional, and social well-being. The program provides free adaptive golf instruction to veterans, creating an environment that fosters inclusion, camaraderie, and rehabilitation. For many participants, it’s not just about learning the game—it’s about finding a supportive community and building confidence to overcome personal challenges. Meet the PGA HOPE Colorado Team The Colorado team consists of five veterans from various branches of the United States military, all of whom earned their place by winning the 2024 PGA HOPE Colorado Cup. Representing the Section at this national event will be: Jordan LeBlanc, PGA (Army Veteran) – Serving as the team leader, Jordan LeBlanc has played a vital role in the PGA HOPE program since 2018. As a PGA Professional, and National PGA HOPE Trainer, he has trained and certified over 300 PGA Professionals across 15 different sections in the past three years. His leadership and commitment to veteran golf instruction have made a lasting impact. Jeremiah James (Army Veteran) – Despite severe shoulder, back, and neck injuries sustained during service, Jeremiah remains passionate about golf. His ability to adapt and compete serves as an inspiration, demonstrating how perseverance can overcome physical challenges. Erich Posdzich (Marine Corps Veteran) – For Erich, golf provides a sense of belonging and community, helping to replace the camaraderie often missed after military service. His dedication to the game reflects his passion for staying connected and engaged. Joshua Lee (Navy Veteran) – Golf has been an essential tool for Joshua in improving his mental well-being. After completing a mental health program, he turned to the sport as a therapeutic outlet. The Secretary’s Cup presents an opportunity for him to affirm his progress and play alongside supportive teammates. Paul Garcia (Air Force Veteran) – Transitioning from military to civilian life was a challenge for Paul, but he found purpose and structure in golf. His methodical approach to the game has helped him regain focus and stability, proving that golf is more than just a sport—it’s a lifeline.
